Introducing Eleda Consultancy

We are a small company specialising in relationships, founded in 2013 by qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor Adele Ballantyne, following a 25-year career in the medical and psychotherapy professions.

Eleda aims to help you create, develop and navigate personal and professional relationships, thereby improving your overall wellbeing.

We work face-to-face from our practice in Shropshire and via Zoom, so we can help people throughout the UK and internationally.

Every Relationship is Unique …

…so we treat them as such. Each person we see is treated individually, fairly, and non-judgmentally. Every relationship has unique nuances that require specific guidance.

Adele Ballantyne

MA Relationship Therapy, P/G Dip Relationship Therapy, RGN/RSCN, Dip Health Visiting and Social Care

Adele specialises in relationship breakdown, separation, divorce and co-parenting, whilst also providing training and therapeutic support for all Family Law professionals.

Her career began in the NHS as a nurse specialising in paediatrics, progressing to community work as a health visitor and GP practice nurse.

She completed a Masters in Relationship Therapy at Birkbeck University London (accredited by the University of Hull) in 2012, and has since been practising as a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor.

In addition to this work, Adele is very passionate and proactive in her work in divorce and separation. Following work with private clients, she recognised a need for Family Law professionals to have a greater understanding of the psychological and emotional impact of divorce.

This has led Adele to become an active member of Resolution (www.resolution.org.uk ), taking on the role and Co-Chairperson of the Parenting After Parting Committee; the first therapeutic member of the organisation to hold two chair positions.

During this time as Chair, Adele has co-edited the ‘Parenting through Separation’ booklet alongside Marcie Shaoul, and  has worked with the Future Practice Committee on Resolution Together (the ‘One Couple, One Lawyer’ model of divorce).

Adele is a trainer for Resolution collaborative divorce training and also works with  a sub-group of the Family Solutions Group, whose work is backed by the President of the Family Division, Sir Andrew MacFarlane.

In 2021 Adele won the Working in Collaboration Award.

What our clients say…

We were at war! My husband's solicitor suggested we see Adele. We didn't think it would help but now we are are communicating and starting to learn how to co-parent our children now we are divorced. I would say to anyone going through separation , if you have children, go and see Adele, she really helped.

ParentShropshire

Really helpful - a reminder of all the things we need to keep practising and are easy to forget! Great venue and Adele was supremely approachable and knowledgeable. Thank you.

Family SolicitorShropshire

Her calm and reassuring approach encouraged staff to ‘open up’ and she was able to gain their trust. I have no hesitation in recommending Adele from Eleda Consultancy and I very much hope I will have an opportunity to work with this company again.

Mark ApplebyAssociate Director of Human Resources at Yeovil District Hospital

I attended First Aid, First Steps for Parents. Really useful informative workshop. If made me think about how to put our children front and centre of decision making, rather than in the middle.
